Winnipeg Jets agree to deal with depth forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan – Winnipeg

On the second day of NHL free agency, the Winnipeg Jets added a depth player to their forward ranks after agreeing to terms on a two-year contract with former Nashville Predator and Los Angeles Kings center Jaret Anderson-Dolan.

The contract has an average annual value of US$775,000 and is a two-way deal for the 2024-25 season, but converts to a one-way contract in 2025-26.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Anderson-Dolan turns 25 on Sept. 12, just before the start of training camp. The Calgary native was selected by the Kings in the second round (41st overall) of the 2017 NHL entry draft and spent his entire pro career in the LA organization before being traded to Nashville at the deadline last spring.

The former star player for the Spokane Chiefs in the Western Hockey League has played in 127 NHL games, scoring 15 goals and adding 13 assists for 28 points.

With Anderson-Dolan’s arrival, Winnipeg has 21 players under contract for the 2024-25 season and a salary cap of just under $7.9 million remains.

The Jets still have to negotiate contracts with five restricted free agents, all of whom received qualifying offers before the June 30 deadline at 4 p.m. CT.

That group includes forwards Cole Perfetti and David Gustafsson, along with defenders Logan Stanley, Ville Heinola and Simon Lundmark.
