A dog owner is facing multiple charges after police allege he ordered the dog to attack a woman in Cobourg, Ontario, on Sunday morning.
According to Cobourg police, officers responded to a report of a dog attacking a woman near Densmore Road and Division Street around 12:40 a.m.

A woman was found with multiple dog bites and was taken to Northumberland Hills Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
According to the police, their investigation has shown that there was an altercation between the woman and a man in a house. They claim that the man attacked the woman.
Police allege the man “incited the dog to attack” the woman as she left the home.
Robert Thomas, 61, of Cobourg, was arrested and charged with assault, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily injury.
He was released on bail and will appear in court in Cobourg on August 14.
According to police, the dog was seized under Ontario’s Dog Owners’ Liability Act.
