Police ID man found dead in South Edmonton apartment; second man charged: Edmonton

An Edmonton man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the suspicious death of another man in south Edmonton.

Police responded to an apartment complex near 82nd Avenue and 97th Street at 5:13 a.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers found a dead man in a suite.

Edmonton police said at the time that the homicide unit had taken over the investigation and noted that one person was in custody.

In an update Friday afternoon, police identified the victim as Krishnil Mani, 37.

An autopsy completed Friday found he died of multiple stab wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.

“Homicide detectives have now charged the man they took into custody, Nathan Nanemahoo, 34, with second-degree murder in connection with Mani’s death,” EPS said in a news release.

According to police, both men knew each other.
