Reactions to the performance were mixed and Liam, who was celebrating his 52nd birthday, sent a message to those who didn’t appreciate what he called his “angelic tones”.
In a message to X, formerly Twitter, he said: “You guys are not real fans, you guys are just CHEATERS and if you have any tickets you want to get rid of, I’ll gladly take them off your hands. We don’t want guys like you at our concerts next year.”
The singer also posted a painting of a bird alongside a message that read, “You won’t stop me from singing my song.
“I will sing it forever.”
On Saturday, Liam took to the stage to loud cheers, saying: “Yeah, there was a Wembley vibe in the air” as he performed to a record crowd of 96,000, including Spice Girl Emma Bunton and Love Island presenter Maya Jama.
Oasis announced their long-awaited reunion on August 27, following a long-running feud between brothers Liam and Noel after the band split in 2009, sparked by a brawl backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in France.
Noel and Liam will reunite for their first UK performance since their split at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on July 4, 2025.
The last time the brothers performed together was on August 22, 2009 at the V Festival in Staffordshire.
Oasis’ 19 UK and Ireland shows are all sold out, including two extra Wembley concerts following a furore over ticket sales and inflated prices.
The band said they were unaware that dynamic pricing was being used on Ticketmaster, which was causing tickets to sell for more than double their original price, and blamed the situation on “unprecedented demand”.
It also prompted the UK government and competition watchdog to indicate that they would investigate the use of dynamic pricing.
Ticketmaster previously indicated that this was due to the sales organizer, not the website.
This year marks 30 years since the band released their debut studio album Definitely Maybe. Earlier in the month, the album topped the UK charts, helped by the release of a deluxe edition to mark the anniversary.
