Manitoba RCMP investigate evidence of infanticide – Winnipeg

RCMP say they are knocking on doors in Ashern, Man., as part of efforts to investigate the death of a little girl.

Police launched a murder investigation earlier this month after identifying the remains of Xavia Skye Lynn Butler, which were found in the RM of Grahamdale earlier this summer.

Family members told Global Winnipeg last week they want someone to be held accountable for her death.

RCMP say the death of Xavia Butler, whose remains were found in a barn in Manitoba this summer, is being investigated as a homicide.

RCMP said Saturday they are investigating the Ashern community, two hours north of Winnipeg, in hopes of clarifying the timeline surrounding Xavia's death. Investigators continue to look for information and photos taken after March 2022 to determine what happened.
