The entertainment show, which first launched in 2017 with a male-only version, sees brave celebrities doing their best as they prepare to take to the stage and bare all to raise awareness of life-saving cancer checks.
An all-star women’s version was also broadcast in 2018 to raise awareness of cancer in women.
Some celebrities who have participated over the years have either been diagnosed with cancer themselves or had loved ones affected by it.
The Real Full Monty last aired in December 2023 and featured the likes of Julia Bradbury, Paul Burrell and Gemma Collins, but sources have reported that it has proven difficult to find a new group of famous faces to take part this year, according to The mirror.
This means that the broadcaster has decided to ‘rest’ in order to be able to show before 2024.
One source explained: “It’s no easy task to get celebrities to take off all their clothes in front of not just a live audience, but in front of millions more thanks to the cameras.
“Even Coleen Nolan, who has been involved for years, has spoken about how absolutely terrifying she finds it. So the decision was made to give it a break. It doesn’t mean it will never come back, but there are no plans in the pipeline at the moment.”
An ITV spokesperson confirmed: “The Real Full Monty has taken on a number of guises in recent years, from the original all-male line-up to an on-ice version, to raise cancer awareness. This year we are putting the format to rest.”

Ahead of her first performance, she previously said: “I’m terrified of what I’ve done to myself as I won’t even wear a bikini on the beach, let alone take off my gear in front of 2,500 people and millions of people.” at home, but getting women talking about breast cancer checks is way more important than whatever body issues or nerves I have.
“We are determined to give audiences a show they will never forget and hopefully raise awareness that can help save lives.”
