About 20 properties, including six homes, in the Venables Valley have been affected by the Shetland Creek bushfire.
It is currently unknown how badly damaged the buildings are, but people are still not home.
The Thompson Nicola Regional District announced Monday evening that evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect.
The Shetland Creek bushfire, which is burning between Spences Bridge and Ashcroft, is almost 20,000 hectares in size and remains the largest significant wildfire in the province.
The fire has closed Highway 1 between Spences Bridge and Ashcroft.
Ashcroft Mayor Barbara Roden told Global News on Tuesday that the fire had been burning all night, which was positive given the wind.

“One concern now is that there is a new fire, the Finney Creek bushfire, on the northern side of the Half Creek Valley, so it is still some distance from the Shetland Creek bushfire,” she said.
“They’re building guards to protect the High Creek Valley. But of course they’re also watching the fire to make sure it doesn’t merge with the larger fire.”
According to Roden, the evacuation orders, warnings and highway closures are hard on the community, especially since it is not possible to transport goods in and out of the region.
“Anything that puts people off coming here at the height of the summer season is not good news,” she added.
Roden said all eyes are now on the weather, which is expected to cool down on Wednesday and Thursday, with rain forecast across the region.
