It follows the characters Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke) and their blossoming relationship.

EastEnders icon to star in season 3 of Netflix’s Heartstopper

Netflix has now confirmed that former EastEnders actress Annette Badland will star in the new season.

The 74-year-old star is best known for her role as Aunt Babe in the BBC soap series.

She was introduced to the series in 2014 as the maternal aunt of Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) and Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White).

During her time on the series she held various professions, including merchant navy stewardess, baby farmer, drug dealer and pub chef.

Before leaving the show, she caused chaos by telling Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) that he was pregnant with Ben Mitchell’s (Harry Reid) baby.

She also threatened to publish photos of Les in which she was transvestite, causing Pam Coker (Lin Blakley) to make a fool of herself.

Annette Badland isn’t the only star fans have spotted in the new season of Heartstopper. Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey is set to play Jack Maddox.

Netflix UK and Ireland confirmed the news, saying: “It’s not just Jonathan Bailey joining Heartstopper S3, we also welcome Hayley Atwell as Nick’s Aunt Diane and Eddie Marsan as Charlie’s therapist Geoff!”

Heartstopper season 3 will be released on UK Netflix on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
