She said: “After six incredible years on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, it's time for me to step away from early mornings and focus on family.

“A big thank you goes to my amazing team on the show, Tina, Mike and Richie, and of course our listeners, with whom I have shared some of life's highs and lows, the good, the bad and the crazy.”
When is Zoe Ball's last breakfast show on BBC Radio 2?
Zoe revealed: “My final show is on Friday December 20, just in time for Christmas, with lots of fun and shenanigans.
“Although I'm stepping away from the Breakfast Show, I'm not disappearing completely – I'll still be part of the Radio 2 family, with more news in the new year.
“I'm excited to embrace my next chapter, including being a mom in the mornings, and I can't wait to participate in the school run!”

However, since the announcement, the BBC has confirmed further changes to the current line-up and schedule of presenters on Radio 2.
Who will replace Zoe Ball on Radio 2?
Scott Mills will become the new presenter of the legendary Radio 2 Breakfast Show every weekday morning, following on from the weekday afternoon program (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM).
Scott said: “Zoe and I have been such good friends for over 25 years and have spent much of that time as part of the same radio family here at Radio 2 and also on Radio 1.
“She has done a fantastic job on this show over the past six years, and I am thrilled to be handing over the baton.
“It feels like since recording my first shows as a child in front of an audience of one, my mother, all roads since then have led to this amazing opportunity.
“It really is a lifelong dream come true to follow in the footsteps of Sir Terry, Chris and Zoe and become the new presenter of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.”

Up next, Trevor Nelson, who currently hosts Rhythm Nation every Monday to Thursday (10pm – midnight), will host the weekday afternoon show from 2pm to 4pm from January, taking over from Scott.
Trevor commented: “It will be great to be in the daytime. It is the ultimate privilege as a broadcaster to entertain the nation every day on Britain's biggest channel.
“I want to have a lot of fun and will bring a little soul to the new show.
“Regular listeners will be happy to know that my 'guess the artist' game Five Seconds to Name is coming with me, so hopefully newbies will enjoy playing along.”
In addition, DJ Spoony is expanding his weekly edition of The Good Grove (Friday evening – 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM) to four weekly shows on Monday and Thursday evenings (10:00 PM – midnight).

Elsewhere, Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Kitchen Disco, an original BBC Sounds commission for Radio 2, is being extended from one to two hours, with Sophie bringing her non-stop party to Friday evenings from 9pm to 11pm.
Sophie said: “I can't wait to bring my Kitchen Disco to Friday evenings on Radio 2, where we'll wave goodbye to last week and kick off the weekend together in true disco style.”
