46-year-old man charged in weekend murder in Vancouver – BC

A 46-year-old man has been charged in connection with a murder that occurred in Vancouver's Joyce-Collingwood neighborhood.

In a news release, Vancouver police say officers were called to a home near Rupert Street and Euclid Avenue around midnight on Saturday.

Upon arrival, police found a deceased woman in her twenties.

Officers also found a second victim, a man in his 20s, who was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The press release states that a 46-year-old suspect has been taken into custody and that there is currently no danger to the public.

Global News has learned that Tenzin Choigey has been charged with murder and aggravated assault.

Choigey remains in custody and is expected to appear in court on November 26.

Saturday afternoon, VPD Sgt. Steve Addison said police cannot share certain information due to the serious nature of the investigation and that it is still in its early stages.

The murder victim has not yet been publicly identified as police say they are working to notify their next of kin.

Addison added that the investigation into both the murder and assault remains ongoing to determine the exact lead-up to the incidents.
