No disrespect to Oilers fans, but if we had to choose between a drunken beach vacation and a stroll through the West Edmonton Mall, well… let’s just say the Stanley Cup is having a pretty good time in Florida.
Florida won its first Stanley Cup late Monday night by beating Edmonton 2-1 in Game 7 after giving away a 3-0 lead in the final series. For Edmonton, it was a heartbreaking loss after such a strong comeback. And now the Panthers will spend the summer sipping on hockey’s holy grail.
Which they seem to be doing in prime Florida fashion, treating the Stanley Cup to a better summer vacation than most of us could have hoped for.
Turned off the cup, enjoyed some fresh pasta, popped open some bottles and even took a dip in the ocean.
In a video posted on X by Roberto Luongothe cup is even sprinkled with fresh Parmesan cheese as the former Canucks goalie, now with the Panthers, digs into a steaming pile of linguine.
In another video posted on XPanthers center Aleksander Barkov looked to conquer the Cup club in Miami.
“For months they’ve had a guy in white gloves who’s treated the Cup like a newborn baby. The finals end and the Cup goes down the drain like it’s just turned 21,” WIVB sporting director Josh Reed wrote on X.

The cup also went in a golf cart. Because, Florida.
Several reports stated that the players took the cup to the Elbo Room, a famous beach bar.
And of course, no trip to Florida is complete without a stroll along the beach.
“The Stanley Cup woke up in Elbo Room, took a quick dip in the Atlantic Ocean, took a stroll on Las Olas and is now celebrating at Greek Islands Taverna,” said sports attorney Darren Heitner wrote on X.
“Then it will buy real estate in Fort Lauderdale and wonder why it ever lived up north.”

Next season will mark 32 years since the Cup called Canada home.
Stanley, we swear Canada can give you a good time too. We’re sure you’ll love the Stampede. Montreal has a vibrant club scene. Vancouver has beautiful beaches.
And Toronto has…um…enjoy your vacation, Stanley.
